Are Candles Safe to Use?
Candles are safe when used properly and responsibly, following the manufacturer’s instructions. To ensure safe use, always follow these common-sense guidelines:
Never leave a burning candle unattended
Keep candles out of reach of children and pets
Trim the wick to the recommended length before each use
Keep candles away from drafts, vents, and flammable materials
Extinguish candles that begin to smoke (check manufacturer instructions before relighting)
Extinguish candles when ½ inch of wax remains in the container
Use only candle holders designed specifically for candle use
Keep matches, wick trimmings, and other debris out of the wax
Extinguish the flame if it burns too close to the container or holder
Never move a glass container while the wax is still liquid
